Sharp Albino
Boa constrictor
Sharp albino - is one of two known albino /amelanism/ forms king boas. The first individual - 38 cm long female was bought by Brian Sharp in 1991 in Columbia for an unbelievable price 25 000 dollars. B. Sharp had already been breeding a few hetero babies gained from his friend Peter Kahl that time. B. Sharp mated up his female with hetero male bought from P. Kahl later, and to his great astonishment - this female gave birth to the only common coloured hatchlings. And it that way, he found out at his first attempt his own blood line, which is genetically incompatible with the origin one. The manners of both the types of albinism are different from each other and look like 2 different mutations even from interbreeding of two various Albinos'lines, the youngsters will be naturally coloured and fissile into both two albino types. Thus, two albino variants have been distinguished since this time - Kahl /sometimes called Original/ and Sharp. It is still necessary to indicate which line is concerned with - so as not to occur their undesirable crossing. Kahl line was discovered earlier and it has been known since 1989 and it has been intensively bred-improved so that it has beenspread enough at these days. Sharp line is essentially more infrequent so that it hasn't been propagating by its own discoverer. From the very beginning, Sharp line has been distinguished through its higher colourness than Kahl's line has. Especially the older individuals have more significant portion of yellow and orange colour. Both of these lines have always been developing by introducing alot of various coloured forms. Albinos have been crossed with various subspecies , as Boa c. constrictor Surinam, Guayana, Boa c. imperator Hog Island, Boa c. amarali and so on and with coloured forms, as they are for example: anery, salmon, pastel, motley, striped, jungle, etc. That has been originating new, still more significant and differer variants, as their are, for example snow, sunglow, pearl, coral, partial tree-tone, pastel albino, jungle albino, etc.
